猫种（BREED）一词可用在所有规章里，其意包含天然猫种、成熟杂交猫种、变异猫种和混血猫种。每一猫种都有其关于血统、毛色和其它特征的详细规定。

1 节 天然猫种
猫只若以某一猫种登录，那么其父母和所有的祖先都必须是一类猫种。
以下是已被承认可被登录的天然猫种：

第 2 节 成熟杂交猫种
这是由两种或两种以上特定猫种杂交的结果，此特定猫种也可能是成熟的杂交猫种再杂交而成。两者的父母猫一定是成熟杂交猫种范例猫，而且血统只可能体现成熟杂交猫种及用于生产此成熟杂交猫种的特定猫种的特点。

混血猫种
这是两种或两种以上的特定或不特定猫种直接或间接交配的结果。
血统只可能体现此混血品种及用于生产混血的品种的特点。
1，Bombay-
Bombay, Black American Shorthair, or Sable Burmese.
2，重点色短毛（Colorpoint
Shorthair）-Colorpoint Shorthair
or Siamese.
在2019年1月1日之后出生的小猫，其父母只可能是Colorpoint
Shorthair。
在1977年1月1日之前被出生的小猫可能是美国短毛猫。
3，异国短毛猫（Exotic）－异国短毛猫或波斯猫（Exotic
or Persian）。
1975 年7月1至1987年4月3
日之间出生的小猫，其父母可能是美国短毛猫。
在1975年7月1日之前出生的小猫可能是任一一个猫种。
4，Javanese-Javanese,
Balinese, Colorpoint Shorthair, or Siamese.
5，Ocicat-
Ocicat or Abyssinian.
6，Oriental(Shorthair
and longhair)－Siamese or Colorpoint
Shorthair (also, Balinese or Javanese for the longhair division)。
在1976年7月1日至和1984年12月31日之间出生的小猫也可能是美国短毛猫。
在1976年7月1日之前出生的小猫也可能展现外来的短毛猫，如栗色、黑檀树色、蓝色、淡紫色、白色。
第 4 节 变异猫种
自然品种自然生产出的后代，将会反映一些特定的特点，在变种和用于生产变种的猫种间杂交可以这些特点得到延续。血统只能反映出所列的猫种的特点。
1，美国短尾猫(Shorthair
and longhair)－ 驯化的和天然的短尾猫。
在2002年1月1日之後出生的小猫，其父母只可能是美国短尾猫。
2，美国卷耳猫(Shorthair
and longhair)－American Curl、Domestic
Longhair、Domestic Shorthair。
在2010年1月1日之后出生的小猫，其父母只可能是美国卷耳猫。
3，American
Wirehair－American Wirehair or American
Shorthair[Page]。
4，Balinese－Balinese
or Siamese.
5，Cornish
Rex－curly or straight-coated Cornish
Rex。
在1984 年1月1日之前出生的小猫，也可能是美国短毛猫。
6，Devon
Rex－ Devon Rex, American Shorthair,
or British Shorthair.
在2003年5月1日之后出生的小猫，其父母只可能得汶郡猫。
从其它国家引进的得汶郡猫，其父母可能是缅甸猫。
7，苏格兰折耳猫（长毛和短毛）－苏格兰折耳猫、英国短毛猫、或美国短毛猫。
在1976年1月1日之前出生的小猫也可能是异国短毛猫。
8，LaPerm
(longhair & shorthair): domestic longhair, domestic shorthair and AOV Ocicat。
在2002年5月1日之后出生的小猫，其父母只可能是domestic
longhair, domestic shorthair 或
LaPerm parents。
在2010日1月后出生的小猫，其父母只可能是LaPerm。
9,Selkirk Rex－Selkirk
Rex, British Shorthair, Persian, or Exotic.
在1998年1月1日之前出生的小猫，也可能是美国Shorthair
。
在2010 年1月1日之后出生的小猫，其父母只可能是Selkirk
Rex或英国Shorthair。
在2015年1月1日之后出生的小猫，其父母只可能是Selkirk
Rex。
10,Somali－Somali
or Abyssinian.
11,Sphynx－Sphynx,
American Shorthair, Domestic Shorthair/Domestic Sphynx Outcross。

1,Himalayan－喜玛拉雅猫种已合并至波斯猫种中，自1984年2月生效。
